I made this node because dusty things are way cooler than not dusty things.
~ Append the Blender Unit - Dust Node to your project file ~
(File --> Append | open Dust.blend --> NodeTree | select it)
In the Shader Editor add it after your object shader by pressing
SHIFT+A | Group | Blender Unit - Dust Node
- To use an even coating of dust on your object connect the 'Even dust coating'
output to your Material Output. Control the amount of dust with the 'Dust Amount'slider.
- To create touched parts where the dust has been disturbed Vertex Paint mode, use a red brush to
paint where the dust will be full strength.
Make sure you have enough vertices to paint on, the example object has been
subdivided using 99 cuts.
Select your object, go to Object Data Properties, under Vertex Colors you will find 'Col'
doubleclick on it, rename it to 'Touch Mask'.
Connect 'Vertex Colors Mask Dust' output to your Material Output.
Control the amount of dust with the 'Dust Amount'slider.
Control the amount of refill within the touched parts using the 'Touched parts refill'slider.
